Our Coffee Morning held at the Village Hall on Wednesday in aid of Newsline, the Talking Newspaper for the Blind and Impartially Impaired. We made a profit of £225 which has been given to Newsline’s Treasurer. Thank you to all of you who came along to have a cuppa and cake whether for a short time or for the whole time.

Our next Coffee morning will be held at Chaffcombe Village Hall on Weds 1st April from 10.30 – 12 noon in aid of the new Parkinson’s Group Exercise Class in Chard held on a Wednesday afternoon where you can exercise and have a friendly chat with others.

A low intensity class to improve strength, balance and manage symptoms. Join them for a cuppa and a chat and meet others from the locally Parkinson’s community at Chard Leisure Centre.

Our next Coffee Morning is on Weds 4th March at the Village Hall from 10.30 – 12.00 in aid of Newsline (The Talking Newspaper for the Blind and Partially sighted).

Please feel free to come along and have a cuppa and cake for a donation towards Newsline.

I thought I might do a Pre-Christmas Walk next week on Tuesday in the hope that the rain may have eased by then. A recent bad experience crossing two sodden local fields says that 

these are no go areas at present so this is what is planned:-

Chaffcombe Village Walk Tuesday 23^rd December 2025 at 10.00am

Village Hall – Summer Lane – Whitemore Hill – Lydmarsh – Tolleys Lane – A30 (west) – The Drift (north) – Avishayes Lane (west) – Paintmore Lane – Chaffcombe Road – Village Hall

This route may be changed if conditions dictate but it could be a good opportunity to stretch legs before the excesses of Christmas.

I plan to do another footpath walk next Thursday 20th November as follows:-

Chaffcombe Parish Footpath Walk Thursday 20th November 2025 at 10.00am

Village Hall – Summer Lane (south) – past Court Farm barns and across field – track along stream bank to Knapps Lane – Knapps Lane (east) – track to Sprays Hill – Cricket Lane (east) – Knowle Lane (west) – track south past Ashton – Cricket Lane (west) – Chaffcombe Gate – track south across fields to Village Hall

Due to recent heavy rain parts of the route are likely to be muddy so good waterproof footware is advisable.

Hope you will be able to join and that we may have so good views as well.
